Jim was drafted by the Yankees in the 25th round in June ’82, later got released by the Red Sox twice, and then was picked up by the A’s in ’87. He used a sinking 88-mph fastball to get the hitters out in ‘89.

Todd Burns

Todd has a herky-jerky delivery, an excellent forkball, and a hard fastball. He won his first five decisions as a rookie in ’88, and went 5-0 at home with a 1.68 era over 64 1/3rd innnings that year.

After registering three saves in ‘75 and ‘76, his first two seasons, Dennis went from ‘77 through ‘86 without posting a single save.
Curt Young
